Slow, but sure...

Camryn here:
Some progress, it's coming along slowly, but surely!!!
See, signs of progress.  The dogs now gots a proper yard instead of their teensy weensy one.  Ivy LOVES it, she's already got a fan club.  Three of the Littles (smallest kids) next door managed to give her belly rubs n kisses thru the fence.  Ivy in turn preformed her infamous sit up like a meerkat routine.  Promise who isn't into kids AT ALL isn't quite so happy bout the Littles.  She hangs back barking till her throat hurts.  Tye our elder likes to doddle about, he tends to forget where he was going and why he was going there.  Can't hear well, nor see good, in the day time Mom frequently has to go out to guide him back in.  At night it's easier as he follows the light to the sliding door.

This past weekend Chris and Dad bartered labor.  On Sat. Chris came and helped Dad all day string up the fencing.  Hence the dogs have their yard.  They got part of my paddock and another of the gates up too.  Then on Sun. Dad helped Chris stain trim and doors for Grandfoals nursery, while Mom weeded and mulched for Samantha.  Samantha was surprised to come home from Army stuff to find her flowers looking so happy.

Fog rolling in out front
While Dad n Mom work every day on some sorta project, Dad mostly on my stuff.  My move in date keeps going past what Mom expected.  Mom finally let Dad know (in gentle but, firm way) that I'll be moving in two weeks.  I can't wait!

goings on...

Camryn here:
Sorry no pix, been lots going on though.  Mom's got this round of Grampa's stuff unpacked, there'll be another round coming after labor day though!!!  Grampa is now installed in his new house and seems to be liking it & me too!  Mom says he can't come in my paddock on account of his vertigo he'd be easy to tip over without my meaning to do it.  He comes down and feeds me grasses from the yard, Margeaux be doing lots of lap sitting on the patio with Gramps, Maizee is warming up to him little by little.  Mom is of course coming three times a day for me, & visits with Gramps.  Today she's gonna help him burn brush he's wanting burned.
Mom says she "thinks" it's about two weeks out before me n my cats make the move to the new place.  Dad had a hard time figuring out how he wanted to brace the corners of my fence.  Then figuring out how to do it onced he'd decided.  Once he's got those done the dog fence will be made bigger and my paddock will get done.  He's got one gate up, drilled thru the concrete floors in the barn to place the supports for my stall, got all the lumber for it, & the no climb fence for my paddock.  The electric for my barn has been updated, is now all up to code, and runned from the house.  Have water in my new barn now too!!!  Oh, and he graduated from his college with a new degree, he's a smart guy and of course now has more time to do all these things.   Mom's gotted my pasture all sprayed for weeds, though on particular invasive weed just won't die. It's in my current pasture too, but not as bad since it's all shady there.  She's been trying to clear the flower beds of weeds, seems there be no flowers left but, so much weeds she's just gonna do some round up and start fresh there.  The gas to her dryer been hooked up so now she can do her washing at home stead of when she's at Gramps.
The gurls next door are driving their Momma crazy with "when is the neighbor horse coming" questions.  These girls are horse crazy in a big way, they don't walk or run thru their yard, they canter n gallop everywhere they go.  They have jumps set up and they either jump em themselves or jump one of their dogs pretending he's a horse.  Their Mom says the other dogs all run when they see the leash cuz they know they've gotta be a horse.  Only Dozer the Golden is game for their horsey games.  The youngest did her first horse show over the weekend and was laying in wait for Mom coming out of the house so she could show her her 1st place ribbon.  Guess she was the only entry in the walk/trot in hand class and that she tripped & fell under the pony she was using.  The pony stepped on her arm but, she was OK and was up and riding for the next class. Her Mom says the ribbon was most likely a glad your OK kinda ribbon :).   I'm gonna like that girl, she's a tough cookie.  Dad just laughs and imagines what Mom was like as a little girl when he see's Kaley comin cantering across the yard, Mom is in love with her.  Kaley is already asking if she can clean my bedroom!!!  All the neighbor kids are really nice (5 of them) but, Mom see's a kindred spirit in little Kaley, she's like 7 years old and a wee little thing.

Getting ready bit by bit...

Camryn here:
Mom's getting ready for me at the new place bit by bit.  She's got Dad putting cross posts in the corners of the fences, she plans to bring my longe whip home to get him moving a bit faster with it.  He's measured out my new bedroom, it's gonna be 12 x 15!  He was gonna do a 12 x 12 like I gots now till Mom reminded him the bigger my room is the less room for a 2nd stall in the future ;)  Got my gates bought n my stall mats too, they be waiting in the barn.  Dad's gonna do the dog yard first, then my paddock, pasture comes later.
My pasture/paddock is pretty weedy so Mom grabbed her hand sprayer to kill them all.  She wasn't thinking bout how much bigger my new pasture is though.  It was gonna take her all day for several days.  Dad n Grampa took pity on her after seeing her walk back to the house to refill the sprayer for the umpteeth time.  They headed out and came back with...
Mom's got a proper sprayer contraption now, she was tickled pink both Dad n Grampa got big hugs.  Only took her two hours stead of days pulling it about with the mower/tractor thing.  She was laughing bout becoming a farm girl.
Almost forgot to tell you all, Grampa is now in Ohio.  His two daughters their hubbies, one grandson n dad brought him and most of his stuff on Wed.  He's got sooooo much stuff they need to take another trip down for the rest.  They'd planned to do it this weekend but, Mom laid down the law and my fence is raised up the priority list.  Grampa is staying at the new place right now, Mom brings him every day to help unpack.  Seems Grampa is a bit of a hoarder, more than a bit actually.  He refused to throw anything out when his daughters suggested it so they brought it all.  Oddly he's happily tossing and donating whatever stuff Mom suggests.  Dad thinks Mom just has a more "it's a good idea, but you don't have to" way about her, where his daughters are more about "throw it out, all this stuff is rediculous" way about them.  One daughter in particular is quite bossy, so Grampa just does the opposite, Mmmmm kinda like me with some peoples I guess.

Noisy new neighbor kids...

Camryn here:
Guess the five little heifers had grown enough to move to anudder pasture.  Mom says in their place are 6 weanling bully boys next to them in another pasture are another 6 of them.  For three days n nights they cried n cried n cried for their Momma.  Mom said it made her very sad, specially one of the smallest as he cried for a week.  By day 4 he was sounding a wee sore throated, day 5 his voice resembled the whale songs you hear from tv.  Day 5 little guy just kinda chirped, day 6 n 7 you could see him cry but, no noise came out.  Day 8 he'd finally discovered that grass was pretty good thing and didn't need to cry no more.  Mom woulda helped him escape back to his Momma but, didn't know which cow she was, or what pasture she was in.  Kinda makes ya tear up a bit ;(
This is one of the bully boys, Mom likes him cause he's my color...

The wee one not eating is the sad boy, he's also the smallest so maybe needed more Momma time?...

You can see these gwo have hunkered right down to eating.  This was day 4 of their leaving Momma...
The farmer man came over and gave Mom some of the meat from their cattle.  He said to welcome them to the neighborhood and since had can't bake pies he broughted beef.  He told Mom they took the bully boys from their Momma's sooner than normal cause for some reason they was tearing up their Momma's teats really bad.   Said the Mom's was glad to be rid of them on account of that. .  Their cattle be a French breed called "Blonde somthing", Mom can't remember or spell it.   He said they be grass fed, mmmmmm, I'm grass fed and similar in color!!!  Hope my long tail means no one will get confused and turn me into a side of beef!!!

Grandfoal shower...

Camryn here:
So sorry for the delay, finally got the pix from Mom of the Grandfoals Shower.  I'm guessing it's called a shower cause the Mom to be is showered with gifts for her upcoming foal?  For my friends in the UK, Grandfoal Showers are typically given for first Grandfoals since the parents of course won't have all they need for the newborn and they'll be sure to need lots.  Also it's usually not given till about a month prior to due date.  Most often it's only the Mares present at showers, and small sandwiches, beverages n cake is served.  At my Grandfoals shower, Stallions, geldings, and Emily (Chris Pitty girl) were also in attendance. Food was picnic style with grilled burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon... For most guys this was the very first Grandfoal shower they ever attended.
Peoples played games such as: feeling a closed paper bag to guess what baby item was inside.  Who ever had the most correct guesses won a prize.  The prizes were hanging flower baskets that Mom growed at work.  These also served as decorations till they were won.  Peoples really liked that we didn't do the typical useless prizes.  Another game involved guests making a list of wishes for Lincolns future, they filled out their address on envelope to put the list in, one was drawn out for a prize.  Sam now has all her thank you note envelopes adressed for her!!!  Any guy who brought a box of diapers got entered in a raffle for a special prize that guys would like.  One game played is played at most showers, the peoples guess how bit the Mom to be's tummy with toilet paper squares.  Then a string is placed "around" Mom to be's tummy and closest guess wins.  Samantha's tummy was 15 toilet paper squares around.  Another game played was very "untypical" 5 guys had a baby bottle chugging contest.  A baby bottle was filled with 6 oz. of beverage of their choice, and the one who chugged theirs down fastest in an allotted time limit was the winner.  The guys were VERY surprised at how long it took to chug down a baby bottle!  It was very funny, Mom got a video but it's to big to download so sorry no pix of that.
The cake, with baby booties, diaper pins, etc.  Mom had it in Red/White/Blue on account Chris n Sam are military.  They really liked that lots...

Sam doesn't know Mom took this pic of her enjoying a creme stick brought by a friend..

They be playing the "what's in the bag" game here...

Sam is getting ready to open gifts for Lil Lincoln from her "throne".  Mom n Dad got her the rocker so she could sit in it at the shower and of course rock Lincoln to sleeps...

Sam unwrapped the gifts while Chris made sure the guests got to see what was brought for Lincoln.  He did a super job at this...

Doesn't Sam look pretty in her "Mother to Be" tiarra?...

The nursery theme is giraffes, of course it should've been a rocking Haflinger but the giraffe is soooo cute.  Even Emily thought so!  Dogs aren't normally guests at showers but, Emily is special...

Mom saved this blanket from when Chris was a baby for when he got to be a Daddy.  This one was made by his Great Aunt Annie (RIP)

Another of the blankets Mom saved.  This one was made for Chris by Mom's Bestest friend who is also no longer with us.  Hoping they'll both be looking down on Lincoln while their blankets keep him warm...

This card was rather mmmmm shocking!  It was from our Adam who has that kind of humor...

Lincoln n Sam are gonna have lotsa fun with this stroller.  It's got special tires cause they live in the woods, it's also for jogging so Sam can take Lincoln on her runs, AND it's got an MP3 connector so Lincoln n Sam can listen to music together.  Yeah, Mom's already spoiling the little guy...

Chris n Sam chatting while Lincoln bumps Chris hand :)

Lincoln now has lotsa things he'll need n lotsa clothes to wear too.  I'm kinda bummed I didn't get to go.  Take a look at all that grass in the background, I'd have loved that.
They did have to move the shower location because of Chris pavilion being damaged in a storm.  It wasn't gonna be fixed in time.  Lucky for us that the TownShip Chris is a fireman in has a lovely pavillion too.
After anyone who wanted to headed to Chris n Sam's house for a bonfire after shower party.  People who brought/drank alchohal were encouraged to camp & dance!

Moving progress...

Camryn here:
Hi everbody, sure did miss you whilst we awaited cable hookup which finally happened :)
While I'm still at the old place along with Momma Margeaux n Miss Maizee, room service arrives pretty pretty promptly thrice daily for which I am very happy & content.
Mom, Dad & the dogs have all moved to the new place, progress is being made towards Me n the Cats making the move...
See the truck?  It's depositing my fence posts!!!

Kinda hard to see but, there be hundreds of fence posts laying on the ground just waiting to be pounded in.  The guys in the back are discussing best way to do this without disturbing my shady tree.  Unfortunatly one of the guys must be a newbie, they only gotted one fence pounded when they had a problem.  Seems the guy didn't see a stump sticking over 1 1/2 feet out of the ground and he runned it over.  Hydralic system was punctured, soooooo they'll be back out Monday to finish the job.  Hopefully no more fence pounding crisis and they'll Get R Done.

My water n electric are also being installed n hooked up.  That be Jim putting some pipe in the trench he just dugged up.  He's hoping to have it all roughed in Monday, so the inspector can come to make sure it's all done right.  Mom's so excited bout the progress in the pasture and keeps me updated daily.

Funny thing happened the day they moved the furniture to the new place.  Dad's brother-in-law n nephew came to help.  They loaded up the trucks and flat open trailers with furnitures, drove down the highway to the new place and began unloading.  Mom, George n Elliot are in the gargage when Mom sees little legs walking amongst the tables.  Seems Margeaux was on a scouting mission to tell the other four leggers bout the new place.  She'd hitched a ride hidden in the furniture!!!  She was only tad shaken up by her adventure and very happy to hear and see Mom when she unloaded herself.  She did give us all a thumbs up on the new place after she'd checked it out.  Her n Maizee are gonna miss the flower bed jungles but, Mom promised to work on that for them.
Ivy is having a bit of problems adjusting I hear.  See, she was borned in the old place, so this is really hard for her (suppose it will be for Maizee who was borned in my barn too),  So, she's unsure about appropriate potty places.  Oddly she just doesn't like walking in the grass in the new yard!  She goes out on the patio thinks about going in the grass then decides not too.  Mom has to go out to call her into the yard for Ivy to walk out to do her business.  Mom has decided Ivy needs a Pottying Outside 101 class.  Perhaps the carpet in the house just feels better on her feets?  Mom thinks not!  The dogs have a small temporary fenced area till they have a proper fenced yard.  So, hopefully late next week, they'll have a roomier area and she'll not feel like she's walking on her own pee?  Mom cleans the poos right up so that's not an issue.
Baby Shower pix to come soon,
