K-k-krazy windy day...

Camryn here:
Today it's very windy, it's coming from the S.E.  Mom has taken note that I tend to feel nervous when the wind blows from that way.  No big deal as we weren't planning anything today anyway.  I just prefer to eat outside so I can keep watch for those Saber Tooths, but Mom puts lunch inside so it don't blow away.  So, I take a bite, head out, take a bite, head out, rinse/repeat...
Mom headed over next door cause Lori was there and Mom owed her money for Fanatsia tickets.  Danette was saddling Jesse, while Lori was getting Levi ready.  They was gonna take em thru the woods to work in the arena.  After they was all ready Lori didn't wanna leave Eclipse all alone in the barn, so Mom volunteered to lead him.
Jesse starts off in the lead, Eclipse next, then Levi.  Levi was very up, probably from the wind, so Jesse/Eclipse was walking slow so Lori could keep him in line.  They hadn't gotten far when suddenly Mom hears "look out".  Her turns just as Levi goes by running and bucking, leaving Lori layin in the mud.  Lori was hurting as Levi had planted a hoof in her thigh.  He runned and bucked some more then settled to eat some grass.  Jesse got a tad upset, but Eclipse was like "Jeez Levi your being a DumbA#**!"  So Jesse agreed and relaxed.
Lori got up after a few and went to collect Levi.  Levi was "no way your not gonna catch me" and took off running back to the barn.  Before heading after him Lori told Mom n Danette to go on to the arena.  So they did, though they kept looking back to make sure Levi wasn't headed thru the woods towards them.  Eclipse and Jesse were very good boys, no sooner did Mom n Danette turn them loose in the arena than they heard "clop, clop, clop".  Lori had caught Levi and walked him over.  Lori pulled down her pants and her gots a good bruise starting.  We very glad she's OK, and that Levi grew his brain back.  Can't blame him though he's a young'un and can't always think good things.
Darn I missed all the excitement!

Got it, but backwards...

Camryn here:
One thing Mom n me been working on is my smiling.  I finally got it, so Mom grabs the camera outa her pocket and asks for a "Smile".
This is what she got hee hee
I smiled all right, but backwards turned away from the camera.  No one can say I don't have a sense of humor!!!  Mom got what her asked for, so of course I got my cookie.  And a good laugh from Mom too.

Guess we'll shoot a few birthday hoops...
Coming in for the shot...
Lining up the shot (just like the pros)...

She shoots AND...
The crowd roars as "SHE SCORES"...
Time out?  What do you mean I fowled??? I'm playing myself Ref...

Ready for puppy breath?...

Camryn here:
Mom has declared the second best smell in the whole entire world is Puppy Breath.  Bestest of course is Haflinger Smell!
Her went to visit Onyx babyees their 5 weeks old now (Cardigan Welsh Corgis) yesterday, also got to visit with a litter of Pembroke Welsh Corgis (6 weeks old) too.  There were 10 wee pups to play, cuddle and inhale puppy breath with.  Mom was nearly in heaven.
Sooooo get ready friends, exhale then...INHALE deepy for your fix of PUPPY BREATH
Can you smell it?...
How bout now? Isn't it wonderful...
This little one is the keeper girl her name's gonna be Domino
They know their adorable can't you tell?  Middle pup is a Onyx kid, the other two are Pembrokes

This is da keeper boy pup, his name is Clutcher.  If Momma was taken a pup, this woulda been her pick.  He's the spitting image of Onyx.

They turned Mom's legs into their own personal playground.  Can you tell the differance between the Cardi pups and the Pem pups?  Besides being more adorable & having tails the Cardis aren't as fluffy coat wise.

Just a bundle of playing cuteness
Mom's fav again, he was watching Lady & the Tramp on TV
This is Stella, Mom feels she's destined for agility (like Onyx) as she turns a leg into the dogwalk
Stella is going to live with the late Mirages people.  Her will have her older 1/2 brother Stan to play with there.

A crowd begins to gather, their getting sleepy now
Oops, how did Clutcher get in yest another pic?

Ahhhhhhhh, makes Mom wish her was keeping one for sure

Lunch was over in moments.  These guys eat even faster than me!!!
Mom took tons of pictures, and tried to tuck Clutcher into her coat but, SIGH Debbie's grandaughter caught on.

Remi no news is good news...

Camryn here:
No real news on the Remington saga.  The rope remains inside, he's at Vet Daycare again today being monitored. The staff adore him, course his personality assures that.
Remington says "Thanks everbody for your kind thoughts and prayers.  I'll try to move that rope out so Mom n Dad can get some sleep"

Remi update...

Camryn here:
Remi spent yesterday at the Vet, didn't "expel" the rest of the rope.  He was sent home to "watch", which meant a flashlight for every potty break.  Remi was basicaly to doped up to think about doing his "business".  He's spending today at the Vet being watched and given food that should help his rope "slide on out".  He's showing no signs of distress, just being his Remi self.  Which means goofy!!!  The Vet is reluctant to do anything invasive, and hoping the rope will clear itself without the knife.  So long as Remi isn't in distress he'll come home at night and spend the day at the Vet.  They have Day Care so Remi gets to have fun while he's being monitored.  Luckily Chris has health insurance for Emily & Remi so this isn't breaking the bank.
So please keep Remi in your prayers with thoughts of the rope just "moving on out" on it's own.
Thanx friends,

Remington needs prayers...

Camryn here:
Boy when it rains it pours and I'm not talking bout the rain we had today.  You readers might remember my mentioning Remington who one of our Christophers Pits?  He's the blue in the painting Mom did for Sam.
Anyhow, Remington is in the Horsepital.  Last night he decided his rope toy wasn't just for tugging with, and he ate it!!!  So, besides needing to grow some brains, he needs prayers too.  Fortunalty Chris realized right away that the dissapeared rope toy didn't dissapear without help.  So, he dropped Remi off at the Horsepital first thing this morning.  Last we heard the Dr. had given Remi some morphine which would induce naseau.  Remi brought up half the rope shortly after but, there is still more there.  Iffen he doesn't bring up the rest soon, he'll have surgery.
This is Remi's 2nd time under the knife for eating what he shouldn't.  Hence the comment about growing a brain!!!  Last time was after a cookout when someone didn't throw their corn cob in the trash.  Chris was unaware till he called Mom and describing Remi's symptoms.  Mom used to be a Vet Tech and knew right away it was an obstruction.  Remi pulled thru, but was touch and go cause the corn had been stuck long enough for symptoms to start.
Least this time they knew right way.  Still Remi is a nice dude so please put hands/paws/hooves together in prayer for him.

AaaahRooooo....

Camryn here:
In Cardidom when you loose a friend they all say AaaaahRooooo, Onyx, Ivy, Promise, Tye, Dad and Mom are saying that today.  I never knew Mirage, she was Ivy's Momma, and friend to all the others.  After Mom realized she was quickly being over dogged (to many dogs), she decided to rehome Mirage & another named Coach five years ago.  They were the most outgoing of the grown ups and would adapt well to new homes.
Anyhow we just heard from Mirage new person that she'd developed a brain tumor and has crossed over the RainBow Bridge (maybe with Dakota?).
Mirage as a pupster, can you tell she just knows she's beautiful...

Mom's very fav photo of Mirage taken in the garden.  Mom did a painting of this...

Mirage isn't the only one who knew she was beautiful, the judges all agreed, she finished her Championship at the tender age of 9 months old.  The judges just fell in love with her typeyness and her "look at me aren't I wondeful" attitude. At her first show Mirage had a fan club that went nuts as the judge pointed to her for not just Winners Bitch but, Best of Breed (she was just 6 months old).  The Judge looked at Mom saying "I guess I made the right choice"!
But, Mirage wasn't only beautiful on the outside, she was just as beautiful on the inside too.  Besides being CH Pecan Valley NowUCMeNowUDon't, her was a Certified Therapy Delta Dog with Mom.  They'd do visits at a local hospital where Mirage was a favorite on the cancer floors.
Then Mirage took up another career of Motherhood, our Ivy is one of her babies actually.  Her had two litters of beautiful pupsters.
When looking for Mirage's new home a wonderful lady gave Mom a call.  The lady already was owned by one of Onyx sons named Stan.  She was looking for a friend for Stan and one that would maybe do well in therapy work as the lady was a Doctor at a Hospice.  So off Mirage went to help other peoples once again and became Certified with PetPartners and helped more people with Cancer...

Mirage at her new home with buddy Stan in background.
Mirage was and will always be a very, very special girl.  Funny, how Mom was just thinking of her when she got the news of her passing.  She'll be fondly missed and always remembered well...

RIP Mirage, may you race thru Heaven as gleefully as you did here on Earth

R.I.P. my friend...

Camryn here:
I know I've mentioned my good friend neighbor horse Dakota.  I'm very sad today.  Mom just got email that our Vet helped Dakota cross over the Rainbow Bridge today.
Dakota was my bestest friend, she had such attitude I think that's why we got along so well.  I fondly recall her lipping my bottom from behind if she thought I needed to speed up a bit.  And chatting as we rode side by side...

Dakota my friend, I hope your pain free, happily galloping across the meadows in Heaven.  I'll so miss talking to you across our yards about handsome geldings.  I'll remember you forever and a day!
Later...
PS that isn't Dakota's owner riding her in the pix

It's here already...

Camryn here:
Exciting news, my new Skito pad is here already!!!  Simply amazing how fast as Mom just talked to Mr. Tom last week bout what I might need for my pad, then called to confirm and order it on Mon.  Mom was so surprised when Mr. UPS came a knocking this afternoon.
Her says it's my combo Christmas/Birthday gift since Christmas just ended and my Birthday is just about 2 weeks away.
We really lucked out regarding it's arrival being a warm and sunny January day too.  We got losta pictures of me modeling my beautiful new Skito Pad...
The dark on top is a material that allows ventilation on my back so the heat I make will dissapate somewhat when riding.  The padding inside is 3/4 inch thick, with a 3/4 inch scalloped shim for my muscle atrophy problem, the underside where Mom sits is wool, where Mom's legs lay along my sides is quilted felt so her can feel me better when riding.  Isn't the color just lovely on me?   I think so for sure...

It even kinda matches my halter!!!  Burgandy with blue...

It was custom made to fit my Barefoot Arizona Saddle.  Along with fit for me too.  Mom sent pictures of my back to Mr. Tom so he could recommend what inserts and such would suit me best.  Mom thinks he did a great job...

The twine you see coming from under my new pad is one of two Mom put under the pad to check for spinal clearance.  The first her pulled thru before her mounted me.  The second after.  Both pulled thru even with my ample winter woolies without a hitch.  The string test is supposed to be a check to make sure there is spinal clearance.  Which we're happy to say we have clearance.
Please tell my this doesn't make my butt look to big!
After modeling for the camera, Mom attached reins to my halter and we had a little amble around the paddock.  First time Mom's been on since November!!!  The paddock as you might see in the pictures is a sloppy mess.  Mom just let me cruise about figuring I knew better than her which areas I'd prefer to avoid.  Someday we'll have a proper ride, won't be anytime real soon I have a feeling.

Playin ball...

Camryn here:
Yesterday while Mom was cleaning my room I got bored eating an wanted to play.  Mom knows when I wanna play cause I start putzing around rearranging anything within reach (wheelbarrow, muck bucket, muck rake, brushes...), & following her around with a "Mo-om aren't you done cleaning yet.  Can't we play NOW" look on my face.
Soooo, Mom quit cleaning for a bit so we could play.
I gotted a new ball from that Santa guy.  It's easy to pick up, kinda squishy, sometimes not so easy to put down though.  Mom go my new ball for me, AND my basket ball hoop too.  Her set it out in the snow, I was so happy "let the games begin" I say...
Mom tossed the ball for me to get...

See what I mean about being easy to pick up and hold.  I'll now transport my ball to it's intended destination...

Me n my ball arrive at the same time to my hoop (some balls tend to leave lips unintentionaly).  You're peeps can find hoops such as this discarded at front of neighbors driveways.  Normally there will be a large full plastic resepticle nearby. It's not stealing so long as it's at end of drive & next to such large full plastic resepticles you know...
Now I just gotta figure out just how to move the ball from my mouth and into the net part.  I know how but, #1 it's kinda hard to drop period. #2, well you'll see...
#2 I'm used to my smaller ball where I don't have to lift it quite as much.  Must use physics to figure this part out.  But, being a Hafy Gurl you know I will right!  Now #3 problem...

Oops still working on #2 problem here I guess.  Now #3...

Now you see my #3 problem.  The backboard vs my noggin.  I once again had to figure out how to accomplish my task (getting a treat).  As you can see I figured out how (I'm a Hafy & a mare so of course I did) much applause and treats from Mom.
Mom did try to do a video but, not being a Hafy she couldn't quite coordinate this.  I'll have to teach her how.  There are many pictures absent as while figuring out the equation of the backboard vs noggin, I did knock the entire hoop contraption over having to start over much more than once.  I persiveared and WON!!!
Mom is gonna ask Dad iffen he can remove the backboard part, so I don't gotta literaly use my head quite so often.  It is quite a fun game to play and keeps me from being to terribly bored.
