Another photobomb...

Camryn here:
Seems everyone is into photobombing here lately.  Can anyone find the little sneak in this pic?
Isn't little Ivy cute back there.  Almost as cute as Lincoln, course she's got lots more hair!

When Theo is feeling particularly rowdy, Ivy puts herself in the coffee table "jail"!!

Theo gotted in big trouble in the barn today.  He saw my Maizee before Mom saw him see her.  He was after her real quick, actually got her but, once he did he didn't know quite why he wanted her in the first place.  Mom gave him a "come to Jesus" moment though.  Maizee got the H outa Dodge and Theo was all "I'mmmmmm sooooo sorrrrry Mooooom!"  Mr. Theo don't like yelling "come to Jesus" moments it seems.  Come to think of it neither do I!!!  Dad once said that Mom can be downright scary when she's mad.  She don't get angry often, when she does daggers literally shoot outta her eyes and her voice gets very loud and cold.  The rescue lady is gonna let Mom borrow an e-collar for Theo during cat moments, have a feeling he's gonna think twice now though.
Mom's also thinking maybe if she wears Theo out a bit by playing fetch before cleaning my stall, rather than after that might help with the kitty situation.  He's always on a long line in the barn.

Theo is official...

Camryn here:
It's official now, Theo is part of the family.  The rescue doesn't declare one of their dogs as being "adopted' till after a two week period.  Yesterday was two weeks of Theo being here, everyone (cept the cats) is quite happy...
The Cardi girls as you can see are quite comfortable with him.  And visa versa.

Theo is quite content too.  Mom calls him her sidekick now, cause basically where ever Mom is so is Theo.  He always seems to know what Mom is doing so he can be involved.  Even when seemingly sound asleep like the pic above.  Mom moves an inch and the eyes look to see!!!  Mom cleans my stall, Theo there supervising, doing laundry he supervises, just watching TV he's still making sure she gets it right.
Mom's been teaching him good manner things (he already had great start at rescue) and something fun.  She's got him crawling to her now.  She showed Dad and he busted up laughing, Dad thinks Theo is pretty awesome too.  He loves playing fetch, playing tug games, and just watching TV whilst chomping on his pink Elephant.
Theo was supposed to start school last week but, the weather postponed it.  Mom is really looking forward to Wed. and starting their formal lessons.  Oh, and Mom noticed that at Equine Affaire next month there be a clinic teaching training dogs with horses!!!  She's gonna do that one fur sure, then maybe Theo n Me can be best buds like Onyx n Me was.  Mom knows Theo isn't an Onyx replacement but, when she saw his pic the first time, she sawed Onyx in his eyes.  Having him here now, it's still there only more so.  Course all of our fur kids be apples in Mom's eyes, and all the fur kids Love Mom too.  But, Onyx n Mom had a special connection, it appears that maybe this new connection gone be a great one too.
Got more HAY!!!  HAY, HAY, HAY, went thru lots of HAY with the frigid weathers.  Nom, Nom, Noms.

Photobombing Lincoln...

Camryn here:
Lincoln was here to play yesterday.  Mom was taking pictures of Lincoln in his activity thingamajiggy....
Lincoln is such a cutie isn't he.  Take note just behind Lincoln's head....

Lincoln is totally unaware as he attempts to stop local papparize from taking pictures of him.
Actually he wants Mom's phone to do a selfie I think.

BAM, from behind Theo comes in with his big pink tongue kissing that adorable bald head.

Lincoln was like "whatever, give me that phone Gramma"
Mom changed the picture on top of my blog.  It's the day Theo and I met.  He don't wear the long line any more, cept "in" the barn to keep my kitties safe from being lunch!!!  Oh, and two posts in two days!!!  Maybe spring is really comin?

Spring????

Camryn here:
Well, spring supposed to be here in like 6 days right?  We had coupla days warmer weather, then suddenly...
We had rain, snow n ice along with big windyness Wed. thru Thurs.

Now, I know your looking at my bum and thinking Oh that not be much snow.  And you'd be right excepting this all got blowed on me in a span of 15 minutes whilst I was standing on my patio waiting for Mom to get my lunches served up!!!

I mean what's up with that?

Oh, and I gotta mention some Grampa stuff.  Dad keeps tabs on Grampa's finances. While checking Grampa's account online the other day, Dad noticed that his Social Security check wasn't deposited!  So Dad called Grampa and told him to call his bank and Social peoples.  Grampa was told to come to the Social offices, so Mom tooked him there today after babysitting Lincoln this morning.  Come to find out that someone online had accessed Grampa's Social info, they'd changed his address and diverted his check to another bank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    We know it happens but, to someone with no computer, smart phone...  His bank stuff is untouched! How did they do it?  Could it be someone sneaked into his wallet while visiting???  Scary!   So now there be a block and iffen anything needs changed it's gotta be done in person.  And who ever did this to Grampa gonna be goin to prison!  Hope stealing from a little old man was worth it, grrrrrrr!

SIGH, more Theo...

Camryn here:
First off it's still plenty cold here, oddly the 20's feel toasty!!!  So basically I'm still on vaca, so guess it's a good thing we've got Theo to talk bout or we'd be talking bout nothing much at all!
I mentioned Emily coming to visit along with Lincoln on Sunday.  Dad wasn't home so at first it was rather chaotic.  Emily and the girls all know n love each other.  Emily wasn't so sure bout the obnoxious beast we call Theo.  He's really not obnoxious but, he's young and his "Hi, glad to meet you's" with other dogs can be rather over enthusiastic.  We didn't want Emily to get upset while in the house so they was kept on their leads till Theo reattached his brain & Dad got home.
Then Chris n Mom tooked them outside so they have open space to say Hi.  First they was on their leads, then the got let loose still on leads "just in case"...

First Emily explained to Theo that 3 legs trumps 4.  Theo told her that since he can't count it didn't really matter much to him.

Emily continues her talk on proper manners.  Theo listened real good.  So good in fact that instead of Theo herding Emily it was in he reverse.  Emily herded him!  Those pix was way to blurry to post though.

See, Theo gots manners.  We kept in on lead just in case he forgotted though.  Being a young un he can be a quick forgetter, but really he's a smart dude.

As you can see Theo wasn't much impressed with Grandfoal.  Just some good sniffin then he was wore out from Emily herding him all over and took a nap.
The rescue gave Theo a real good start.  He's got "sit", "leave it", "back off" "off" down nearly 100%. His recall is nearly there too, in the house n yard anyway.  His down is a bit sporadic, but it's there to work with.  Mom does have to tweak Dad a bit though.  He doesn't get that when you want Theo "off" the couch that you don't say "down".  I mean Theo is already layin "down" when he's on the couch!!!  What he needs to do is get "off" the couch so that's what Dad should say.  Dad also poo poo's Mom's "ask him to sit or down before throwing the ball".  Dad'll get it when Theo humps his leg cause Dad has allowed himself to be the "low dog" and lets Theo tell him what to do.  Yup, this has happened to Dad in the past when he poo poo's Mom's instructions.
Mom's pretty sure that Theo never gotted abused before.  He's way to agreeable, he shows no fears or over reaction to stuff either.  Also he's way to good at his playing fetch skills, someone played that with him lots.  He not only chases the ball and brings it back, if he drops it a distance from Mom, all she's gotta do is say "bring it closer" and he does.  Her guess is a young guy who didn't know much bout training but, did know lots bout throwin a ball.  The fact that he was intact and running with a lady cattle dog means his peoples didn't think to far ahead to boot.
Mom's guessing from his wanting to chase cars that his peoples just got tired of his taking off.  On their walk yesterday Theo spotted and alerted to a moving car coming down a cross road like a 1/4 mile away.  Iffen he hadn't been on a lead he'd have been off across the empty field to herd that car!

Dog-gone busy...

Camryn here:
So sorry for the lack of posts.  Mom is to blame, well the weather is too, along with Gramma n Theo.  Yup all to blame but me of course :)
So, the weather has been horrid cold, fortunatly though the blizzardy stuff we was supposed to be getting (this time round) passed us by.  Mom is way over winter and can't wait for spring/summer.  I don't mind the cold so much as my winter woolies keeps me plenty warm AND there be no bugs in winter!!!
Gramma had her surgery on Friday last week.  Waiting on results but, Dr. lady thinks they got it all and no signs of lymph node involvement.  Gramma is doing really good, good nuff to drive Mom nuts at times.  Yup, that's what Gramma's be for, to drive their adult daughters nuts of course!!!  So maybe it's not so bad that our foals move on to other homes perhaps?  Chris broughted Lincoln over Sunday, he smiled for Great-Gramma whole lots, he's a very entertaining and happy boy for sure.
Lincoln be showing Great-Gramma how the lizard makes music.  He's a good teacher.

She's looking pretty good just day 2 post surgery.  Can you believe Lincoln is just days shy of 6 months old already!

Lincoln is telling Great-Gramma the story of his life.  It's a short one just like him (& the Cardi girls).  Oh, Emily came to visit too!

Theo came on Sat.  He's doing super uber good.  Well, Maizee n Margeaux may disagree!  Mom'll be keeping him on a long line till he's taught that kitties are not tasty morsels.  And/or the kitties get used to his presence and no longer run.  Margeaux did put him in his place, so that's given Theo something to think about!  Margeaux is dog savy and understands a dog can't chase a cat that doesn't run.  Maizee hasn't got that concept just yet.

Maizee trying to buddy up thru the glass.  Smart girl she is.

Theo n Ivy have buddied up, while Ivy isn't much for playing she's a wonderful cuddler so that's what they do together.  Promise and he get along too, Promise is more like "we'll just wait till he grows some brains please".  Cattle Dogs are known as velcro dogs, in that respect Theo is true to nature in a big way.  He's stuck to Mom like glue, since it's cold and he's not getting out like he should Mom is excersising him and her by walking all round the house with him glued to her side.  And lots n lots of fetching, he LOVES playing fetch.  He's pretty calm and laid back till he see's his tennis ball or wubba.  He knows where the toy basket is and empties it in search of what he wants.  Mom says he's gotta learn to put his toys away cause he leaves em everywhere.  I be liking him too, while he's not allowed "in my space" we've had several conversations over and thru the fence.  He seems like a nice kinda guy and doesn't fixate on me like he can't wait to herd me.  Mom did notice on one of their walks that he does fixate on cars, so that's something to work on too.  He's been keeping Mom plenty busy just figuring out what makes him tick and visa versa.

Day one with Theo all the kids get along really good!  Course having met at the rescue last week we knowed they would.   Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to adopt him.

Dad n Theo tooked a nap together, Theo was way tired from all the changes he's had.  Dad keeps saying how he can't understand why someone would abandon such an awesome dog.  Their loss is our (and Theo's) gain I say.

At dinner time, Ivy taught Theo what to do. He wanted to beg, everyone he approached just ignored him.  So he went and laid down politely with Ivy.  Ivy is a very good example for her adopted big brother.
We'll post more about Theo another time.  No pix with me yet as the camera and the weather just don't mix well SIGH.  I am doing good though in spite of it.  Mom has Theo come help do my room service.  He's not to good at it just yet, as he's most interested in where the kitties are.  "They're in the loft watching you from above dude".
