Dragon & T. Rex...

Camryn here:
I rarely do two posts in one day but...
Chris texted Mom this pic of Lincoln the Dragon & Emily T. Rex.  Being a cell pic it's not the bestest but, she must make do:

Lincoln the Dragon is filling out quite nicely.  Seems every few minutes he's grown some.  Emily  T. Rex the Dragons trusty side kick looks quite cute.  Though it does look kind of like something is eating her head?  I'm guessing Sam is adjusting something given that T. Rex is a tripod n all. Maybe Emily  T. Rex should borrow the leg that seems to be just hanging around in the top of the picture???

It's been a rainy, windy, rainy day, this is what I do after coming in from standing in the downpour all day!  Gotta roll in the fresh bedding to dry off a bit.  Mom saw me pawing and whipped out her cell phone.  No private moments with those dratted phones I tell you.
Some bad news for me, once I volunteered happily and quite accidently to ride the other day.  I had to prove myself to be uncooperative just to keep Mom on her toes.  So two nights in a row I refused to come in from my pasture.  Course it didn't work quite like I planned cause Mom just got her handy stick and lunged me till I decided my room was a good spot to be in.  Her knowed it was gonna rain all day so decided rather than having to round me up in the dark downpour she'd keep me in my paddock this afternoon.  I caught on and tried to run past her into the pasture.  Not a good idea cause then I got lunged in the rain and brought in the paddock anyhow.  I showed her though, instead of going on my dry patio to munch on some good hay & stay toasty dry, I stood out in the wind and rain eating wet grass thru the puddles, changing my lovely golden coat to a drenched brown!
HA, so there Mom   :P

Happy Halloween!!!

Camryn here:
Happy Halloween everyone.  Bummer that my costume dissapeared with the move, plus Mom didn't even get pumpkins this year!  Bad Mom, Bad Mom...
Moms daughter Jillian and her Fiance Jesse got to play dress up and sent a picture.  So stead of me in costume, here are Jillian n Jesse:
Can you tell who/what they are?  If not, I'll tell you, they are the game of "Operation".  Isn't that cool.  And I think that might be me on Jillians thigh next to the beer bottle she's holding (probably not but, I'll pretend anyways)!!!  Jillian works for a surgeon so Jesse got to wear one of their scrubs.  Guess he wasn't real thrilled that his costume had once actually had bloods n other ghastly things upon it.  Hee hee, don't ya love big handsome guys that gross out easy ;)
Oh, in case I'd forgotten to mention it before, Jesse proposed to Jillian earlier this month.  Course she said "YES", cause she LO-OVES her Jesse :)  He's a real nice guy and they make a very good couple.
It's raining outside so no tricks or treats being handed out here.  Mom tooked a whole bag of candy to the Littles next door though.
Lincoln and his dog big sis Emily are helping hand out candies and dressing up.  Lincoln will be a Dragon, Emily a T. Rex!  Mom might go over to see em, though she's more into chilling tonight.  We'll get pix to post I'm sure :)

I actually volunteered!!!

Camyrn here:
FINALLY, Mom's unbusying a bit, plus we've been having an Indian Summer.  Me n Mom have been enjoying it lots riding after work for the past four days in a row!!!  On day three I made Mom soooo happy, I was at the back of my field nomming away when I saw her bring my saddle outa the barn into the paddock.  I don't know what got into me, I honestly don't but, I made a crucial mistake.  I actually yelled the horse version of "YIPPEE" and galloped over to be tied and saddled up!!!  OMG, is she going to expect this each and every time now!!!  I do have to say it was nice having Mom get all excited and happy that I showed I wanted to play.  Though I'm also banging my head on the fence posts now that I've let that cat out of the bag so to speak <SIGH>
Today, I recovered myself nicely and did my usual casual stroll when called over to get dressed for riding.  We did have fun I must say!
K, Mom put the camera down and lets get on with it!
I do however recommend Mom taking lessons again come spring or sooner.  Like Zoe has complained regarding her human, Mom's turned into a sack of potatoes, specially at the trot.  Thank heavens for the nearly 30 lbs she's dropped over the past year, still something needs to be done.  All those months of no riding has taken it's toll on her skills or lack of skills.  How you look at it depends on if it's your back that bag of taters is on for sure!

Me n My shadow...

Camryn here:
So after Mom had cleaned my room, cleaned my field, cleaned the dog yard, the barn litter box (yes, my kitties use a litter box besides my room too).  She was exhausted but, needed something to clear her head and just chill for a change with something that didn't involve poop!!!
Mmmmm, wonder what she wanted to do then?  I noticed her bringing my gonna play gear out to the paddock, meaning my saddle n what not.
She cleaned me up a bit, saddled me up, helmeted herself up and off we went.  We really just putzed around my field just relaxing.  Mom noticed I was VERY interested in what the 20+ horses a few acres over where up to as they literally all galloped to their barn.  So, out came the clicker and my attention was back on Mom.
I'm checking out all the galloping at the big barn
We played at my whoa, Mom always asks for me for at least a tiny step back when whoaing.  We played backing up, we played disenaging my rear.  I am way good at this, Mom pretends I'm a reining horse which is a pretty cool thought.  I think she needs to try to video the scenery moving as I do a 360 sometime!  I even did one very good sidepass which unfortunatly Mom was so "wow, you acually did it" she forgot the click/treat part <SIGH>
The long ears are always intrigued when Mom n I play.  They holler lots n run around some, they worry that Mom trying to kill me being on my back like that.  I do think they'll get used to it someday perhaps?
We played long time, till Mom realized she had to get dinner cooking.  After I went back to my grass, Mom came out with a lovely peppermint candy for me.  <YUMMY>  Even though with all the grass I been eating she's noticed my cinch didn't go up to the usual number of holes to buckle.  I think I see a grazing muzzle next year :(

Finally...

Camryn here:
It finally happened, Grandfoal came to see me at the barn today.  Neither of us were terribly impressed however...

Mmmph, I'd have thought he'd be just a little excited about meeting me don't ya think?  Or perhaps be more of a help in helping clean my room?  Nope, he came in saw me and promptly fell asleep!  Maybe he was dreaming of riding me thruout the countryside?  Or maybe he was shutting out the fact that someday Mom'd actually expect some help cleaning my room?  I can't really complain though, I came in the barn took a gander at the little guy then went back out to more important things (grass of course).

Margeaux took Grandfoals visit quite seriously making sure Maizee (heading out the door) steered clear!

Busy humans...

Camryn here:
My people have been soooo busy, sometimes I feel sorry for them.  But, that soon passes and I go back to being busy myself...

Keeping my pasture mowed, is sooooo exhausting!  Please don't tell Mom I'm getting chubby!

Promise gets tired just watching them do stuff all the time and needs to rest up.

There was this huge pussy willow bush sitting smack dab in the middle of the yard.  Most of the landscaping is unimaginative and boring, very unatural with things just stuck out nowhere and surrounded by circles of rocks.  Mom's undug all the rock circles and can build around some of the stuff with other plantings.  This particular bush hindered the views and had to go...

Almost gone...

Now Mom can sit on the porch and see the cute long ears across the rode better.  This is the baby Spot.

Margeaux could watch the long ears too if she wasn't so tired from watching Mom n Dad!

Dad moved all the cut down stuff to behind my pasture to age for burning come spring.

Of course the prerequiste pic of Lincoln!!!  OH MY, he's getting cuter n cuter, they got Chris baby pix out and Lincoln is his little clone.  Mom gotted him this furry bear jacket so he could come out and visit me.  He did come out a bit while Mom watched him this morning, but I was busy mowing the pasture.  While watching Lincoln she also made a huge pot of Beef Stew.  Sam was on a job interview, all hooves crossed she gets it.  She had to leave her job when she n Chris gotted married on account of it woulda been a 4 hour commute. Same type of job, just a differant airline.  Since the Govt. peoples finally got their act together (for now) Chris gotted to go back to his day work. Though he's still furloughed one day a week.  His broked leg still has him off from the Fire Station though.
Then when Lincoln went home, Mom got busy transplanting stuff from the old place.  She still has tons of plants to bring here but, with winter coming they'll wait till spring.  Besides that Mom of course provided room service for me with yummy eats, more water, changing my linens and cleaning my field.  Oh, she's also tarped off an area for the veggie garden and adding my road apples to compost thru the winter.  Whoa, I'm tired just thinking of it all!

All a glow...

Camryn here:
One thing we all like lots bout the new place (besides grass) is the sun rises n sun sets.  Living in the woods at the old place we rarely never got to see them...
Last nights sunset...

Sadly the pic doesn't show how I was all a glow!  Mom did try though.

This was a sunset making the trees in front all gold n beautiful.  Mmmm, just like me!

This sunset was way prettier than the picture.  Mom sayed something about "red sky at night, sailors delight", meaning the next day would be a good one for being outside.

I be thinking God had his art brushes all out for this!

This was a foggy sunrise out front.  You can kinda see the cattle out grazing.

An awesome late sunset, Mom had troubles finding me in the pasture.  That's where I enjoy the splendor of the sunrises n sunsets the best.

Some things just don't change...

Camryn here:
Some things just don't change, like I used to stand in the rain at the old place even though I could go inside.  Now I have my patio and I still stand in the rain...

Mom of course still prefers to stay dry and took these from inside the kitchen slider.  WIMP!!!  I did go under my patio when the wind picked up for a wee nap.  Once the winds died down it was back to Nomming as usual.
Dad has made a few changes to my barn.  He's added a sliding door off of my side of the patio.  Simplifies things lots in the morning and at bedtime.  I can simply head into or out of my stall from my side of the patio, rather than being haltered then lead thru the gate that seperates Dad's side of the patio, into the barn thru a man sized door then into my stall.  Dad is also gating off the stairs to the loft as well as adding a big gate off my stall in the barn too.  Mom'll add more rubber mats, so come winter I can go in to eat/drink/chill out of the weather.  Course I'll do the eat/drink part inside, but the chill part I'll probably still do outside.
Of course I must add a pic Grandfoal.  Look, he can open his eyes, bald as a billiard ball though  hee hee!  He looks just like his Daddy!

MO-OM, STOP THAT...

Camryn here:
So after a long day nomming on lovely grasses, giving Mom a short ride round my pasture, doing some circle stuffs for Mom, it's bedtime...
I gots my bedtime snack, nom, nom, nom...

Mmmm, I hear something, what could it be?  It's not Maizee (note the little white thing next to the white door) she's eating her bedtime snack too...

Nom, nom, nom, WHAT'S THAT?  I see something...

MO-OM STOP THAT!!!  Silly human is standing outside my window in the dark taking pictures.
I mean how annoying is that anyway!

We gots a Dragon!!!

Camryn here:
We gots a Dragon in our midst...
HA, fooled you!  It's wee Grandfoal Lincoln all dressed up like a Dragon!

Can you believe it, he's just over a month old already.  Not sure why he's not up walking about like my foals did at much earlier ages than he is though.  Chris n Sam had a date night, so that meant Mom n Dad had date night with Lincoln.  Sadly I have yet to meet him in person SIGH!  Lincoln didn't bring a hat for his little bald head and it was to chilly to bring him out to meet me.  Mom promised me she'd be sure he had a hat for next time though.
Tonight the neighbor (not the one with the good Littles) had some company that brought two Littles.  These Littles I didn't like not one little bit.  Their Dad either for that matter,  Mom saw me going bazoo running in my pasture to my paddock n back again.  That's when she saw/heard those brat Littles yelling, jumping and running along my fence line.  Mom was beyond P.O.'d.  She was just heading out to let loose big time on them when the oldest boy saw her in the window and pointed.  The Dad hustled them off.  Bad enough when kids do stupid things when unattended but, to have the Dad allowing it!!!  The neighbor was inside his garage and didn't see it, and knowing Ed who is a nice guy he'd not have allowed it if he had.    Some days "I Love my new home" some days I long for the peace and quiet of my old place.

Cats n dogs...

 Camryn here:
SIGH, Mom thoughts I should share some blog time with a few of our other furleggers and one of the guests from the weekend.  So here goes...

As you can see Ms. Margeaux n Ivy get along quite nicely.  Ivy likes just hanging in the barn with the cats for hours at a time.  They all just chill inside the barn door or on the patio together.  Margeaux gets along nicely with most dogs.  Save two of the neighbor dogs that thinks she might taste like chicken (they eat chickens).  The dogs advertise the fact that they'd like a taste of cat luckily so both Margeaux n Maizee steer clear.  One of the dogs though does like cats, so Margeaux sometimes visits with him when the others aren't outside.  More further on about Margeaux n dogs!

While Maizee adores Mom n likes Grampa lots, Dad she can do without n visitors she completely steers clear from.  Mom found her comfortable n chillin when we had the cookout last weekend.  Maizee also likes dogs quite a lot.  Our gang particularly as well as Emily.

This is Molly, she lives in VA with Mom's girl Jillian.  Molly came to visit with Jillian and had a ball.  Take note of the deflated Molly along with deflated ball in the picture LOL.  Molly only gets to run off lead at her daycare a few days a week when at home.  So coming here with lots of fenced in room was like heaven to her.  She runned in circles forever just for the joy of it.  Molly has only met a few cats, she's not scared of them but, doesn't understand them.  Margeaux who likes dogs also demands they be respectful of her being she's the reining queen of the smaller furkids here...
The first half of the video below was taken with Jillians phone, it shows Margeaux "demanding" respect of Molly...

Took a few minutes but, finally Molly came to realize that Margeaux is boss of the yard.
(Oh the dirt ring in the yard was one of the many odd "crop circles" of rocks the old owner had a penchant for.  Mom dug up like 200 rocks and is filling them in)

Ever have the feeling...

Camryn here:
Yesterday I was doing my thing "nom, nom, nom", minding my own business.  Have you ever had the feeling that you're being watched?

See, I'm doing my thing "nom, nom, nom"  Take note just to the upper left of my fence post, neighbor "pretending to do his thing"...

I turn my back still doing my thing "nom, nom, nom.

"K, Mom don't look now but, I think someone is lookin at my bootie"

Caught, he quickly puts his head down pretending like he hasn't been watching me the whole time.  Ha, I knew I wasn't imaginating things, he's caught on camera now!

Some exploring & some flirting...

Camryn here:
After I'd nomed on my lovely green grasses for a while I took a few to explore my new pasture.  WOW, it's much bigger than my old one and not nearly as wet either.  Sadly lotsa flies but, no skeeters and the breezes keeps the midges away to boot!!!  Whoot, Whoot for no midges "yet".  Not as much shade but, I do gots one huge tree in the back corner, along with my patio and a smaller tree just outside of my paddock.  Lotsa room to explore and run about, LOVE IT!

This be the big cornfield with my shady tree.  Mom says nobody at all will ever build there as it's property is owned by the National Cemetary, only soldiers who have gone over the rainbow bridge will be there.  Sadly we hears the 21 gun salute far to often ;(   Mom explained most are for soldiers who've lived long good lives, though.
A farmer leases the part not being used to grow corn n stuffs on.  I'm hoping he plants hay stead of corn next time.

Took some getting used to the sounds of cornstalks rustling in the breeze my first time back that way, I bucked at it a few times to make sure it understood my power.  I'm cool with it now though.  The small fenced area has some kind of sink hole, Mom had Dad enclose it till he has time to do some digging and see what it's about.  She thinks maybe a tree was there and died leaving an empty space from the roots?

Yoooo Whoooo boys!  Lookee over here!!!  I think that handsome bay roan may like buxom blondes like me...

Yeah, yeah, you know you want some of this boys..
(Mom attached plastic bags along the trick fence so I'd be sure to take note of it's being there)

I flirted a bit making sure they got to see my beautiful awesomeness.
Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful or cause I have all this lovely grasses to myself to boot.

Now my news...

Camryn:
K, now for the most important news: this be about me, all bout me.  Dad got my pasture all trick wired Sat. night, so before the cookout...
Mom just opened the gate to the pasture.  As you can see I've pretty much got my paddock mowed down.  All it took was Mom calling out "guuurly gurl" and I for sure headed her direction.

I'm a stepping thru this open gate with a purpose.  Kaley the Little who loves horses somehow always knows when something is up at our place.  So, she was there outside the paddock watching.  Mom asked her "so, will she go in and run, or start eating".  Only took Kaley a moment to tell Mom "she'll start eating".

Yup, Kaley already has me pegged LOL.  I walked a few steps in, dropped my head and started in...

Just another view of me doing my best job of helping all that green nommyness disapear.  If you biggify you can just make out the Little Kaley standing outside my paddock.  She's such a Little you can't see her head though.

This is what I did for the first hour out.  Sorry I know to my human blog friends this is not exciting.  To my horse/long ear blog friends there is NOTHING more exciting than a big green field full of grass :)  Gramma n Dad sat in lawn chairs waiting for me to do something else, DUH I gots my priorities in the right order.
Dad agrees with us horses, he see's less $ going to haylages for me and this makes him very happy.  Mom finds everything about it exciting cause a Happy Horse is a Happy Mom!

P.S. please send the Government peoples "get it right vibes".  With the Govt. shut down Chris now not only has a new baby,  a broken leg  (meaning he can't work at the Fire Station), he's also on furlough from his job with the D.O.D.  for however long it takes for Congress and the Pres. to grow a brain and realize all the finger pointing isn't helping.  Mom says when you points one finger at someone, there are three more pointing right back at yourself.  Glad to be a horse with no fingers at all!
