I was wondering if any of your humans do this? Lately specially on gloomy days Mom leans into me, puts her face right up againts me. Then her just inhales deeply, sometimes just once, sometimes for several minutes. When she's done she always thanks me. Odd I think but, it does seem to please her. She tells me the only thing that remotely compares to a smell as pleasing as mine is puppy breath! Odd, odd, odd!

I'll admit. . .I do this! I love the smell of Shy! It is hay and earthy and sweet. Glad to know I am not the only one :)

ReplyDeleteNope, other smell good too, though you all have a different scent. Thoroughbreds smell gorgeous,like fresh grass; Welshies smell like they've just come off the mountains & Donkeys smell like Mediterranean warm earth - that may be coz they are forever rolling in the dust !

DeleteI luckily smelled Enzo, while leaned on him and I reached my arms around him, the last time I saw him:)I miss his smell and touch.

DeleteNot odd at all! And even though Haflingers are delicious to smell and to snuggle against, neighbors may have seen me having a tender moment with Boaz, the big Thoroughbred I'm babysitting! Oh, and my neighbor used to walk over, ask for permission, and then go into the paddock to squeeze and smell my boys!! (The haffies, not my human kids!)
