Got a new neighbor...

Camryn here...
Got me a new neighbor, quite a handsome guy at that.  Believe me I was looking too hee hee!!!  Lori who boards next door is retiring my friend Eclipse.  So her's been shopping for a new ride.
So today she found him and had him brought next door.  He's a Quarter Horse, a real pale Palimino and stands like 15.2, he's only a 4 year old so hope she's not surprised when he ends up tall.  Eclipse was tad shorter than me!!!  He came with the name Dakota but, since Danette's horse is Dakota and he doesn't look lke a Dakato there is going to be a name change.   Mom took her camera over when he arrived....
Right now Lori thinking of calling him Levi.  Mom thinks it sounds good karma, cause when you think of Levi's you think of durable, comfortable and something you can count on.

Rain, rain, rain...

Camryn here:
Mom keeps singing some little diddle "rain, rain, go away, come again another day.  Well, it worked kinda, not the going away part, just the part where it comes another day!!!
You may recall Mom and Dad hauling dirt into my paddock not so long ago?  It was supposed to be dirt, that's what they paid for.  WRONG, it be clay!!!  Mom is not happy bout this at all cause clay just don't drain like dirt.  Dad just poo poo's her, well he doesn't have to walk round in it like Mom n Me do all the time.  It's a mess big time.  I looks like I'm wearing dark socks all the time.

Vogue...

Camryn here:
First off, thanx everyone of the comments on my new saddle.  And yes, it a Barefoot Treeless.  I do agree it looks awesome on me ;)
Mom wrote the Skito Pad peoples asking if they might be able to do some shims for the pad that came with the saddle.  It's a Grandeur Barefoot pad, very nice but, with my atrophy we need differant inserts.  With Mom not working due to her ribs AND the fact that the greenhouse season is nearly over anyway, money be tight.  So, her was hoping that maybe the Skito peoples could help and make an insert for the Grandeur that would help my atrophy.  The nice man Tom wrote right back asking Mom to send pix of my in profile and the inserts to see if he could help me.
Mom brought the camera right out and of course knowing what kind of pix we needed, I cooperated right away...
Camera? pictures?  Ok tell me what you need Mom.  Glad to help...
Mmmmm, where should I stand...

Here ya go Mom, me in full profile.  Sure hope my winter woolies don't interfere with what Tom wants!!!
So pictures are done, and sent. Mom was worried bout how her was gonna get pix of me standing nearly squared up, with head and ears erect.  No need to worry though, cause I knew what her wanted and that it was for me.  So I took over the shoot, chose the spot and "struck a pose".  Only took a few moments and I was able to get lunch right away.  See it does pay to be a good girl!!
Mom did a tracing of the inserts and waiting to hear if they gots a fax #. Her's by sending them a template they'll have no probs.
Keep all hooves crossed that Skito can make what I need to heal the atrophy.

Ta da, new saddle...

Camryn here:
My new saddle came on Friday, here it is...

Isn't it beautiful, it's gonna look great with my chestnut coat for sure.   The pad pictured isn't the pad it came with cause it was in the wash.  It's gonna look great on me too though.

Saturday Danette came over and put it on me (Mom can't lift even a light saddle on me yet).  I was eating so didn't bother paying much attention at the time.
Mom was worried it might be to long for my back but, it wasn't.  The pommel though was to small and would pinch me.  Not to worry cause it zips right out and Mom can get an extra wide to fit!!!  Other peoples said they simply put a hand towel in instead of the pommel.  The pad that comes with it (not the one I'm wearing) can do inserts so Mom emailed the skito peoples to see about getting some shims for the atrophy on my shoulder area.  That will hopefully allow the muscles to heal and get back to normal. Danette helped Mom up on me to sit in it.  Mom liked sitting in it, and on me a whole lot.  Danette hopped up to and couldn't get over how soft the saddle is.
Now that Mom has been on me & I has a saddle that won't hurt, her antsy to ride again.

More of the nursing staff...

Camryn here:
Our Ivy needs occasional breaks from her nursing duties.  Luckily the rest of our staff is up to the job...
Tye: Hey Mom, if you need anything just let Promise know.
Promise: Hey Ivy, Mom needs something!!!
Tye: Zzzzzzzzzz...
Promise: Not to worry Mom, Ivy's break is almost over, Zzzzzzzzzz.

Seriously though, Mom is being well taken care of despite sleepy staff members!
Oh, Promise eye is getting way better not that you can tell in the pix (the red eye isn't from the flash).  It was way worse than how it looks now and is no longer causing her pain.  So while the staff nurses Mom, Mom nurses the staff cause Promise still gets lots of meds in that eye several times daily.  Her doesn't rub it no more, so isn't wearing the cone of shame.
PS-UPS tracking shows my saddle is out of delivery!!!
