Foiled again (4 now)...

Camryn here:
Well, Mom wins 4 now.  Her took a tarp and fastened it (safely) over the strap that supposed to keep me from the area I enjoy as a toilette in the barn aisle.  Don't worry, I'll get it figured out in no time for sure.
I did attempt to graze today, only about three minutes at a time.  I'd trot out, grab a bunch of mouthfuls then run like the wind back to the shelter of the barn, then rinse, repeat for about 20 minutes.  Mom's cleaning my stall and yells "run Forest run" whenever her heard me come running.  Her thinks she's quite the comedian I tell you!!!
The saddle dilemma?  Keep all hooves crossed, my new saddle ships tomorrow.  A lady from the Haflinger list sent Mom a site with gullet templates.  Mom made them (took forever) out of cardboard to check my sizes.  I was super good about it, though I did try to eat the instruction sheet.  Mom shoulda known better than to leave it in reach you know.  Anyhow, turns out even with my new svelte figure I remain voluptious as I take a Draft tree!!!  It's nothing fancy like my not fitting saddle was is.  It's all synthetic, so Mom can just hose it off, weighs less then our smallest doggie.  Dad loved the price and the fact that the company claimed to price match.  Mom found the same saddle heap cheap, so her getting it at that price but, minus the shipping cause the place her ordered it from doesn't charge shipping on saddles.  The guy wrote Mom saying he'd honor it, but would be last time he'd do so from the site her'd found.  Made Mom happy to make Dad happy, to make me happy.  Hey, we're all happy :)  Hope all my peep and horse friends out there are happy too.

grazing vs skeeters...

Camryn here:
What's with the skeeters this year?  Mom offered me some grazing time, I didn't want to!!!!  Her put a lead rope on me and led me out.  Her unlatched the lead and I headed back to the barn!!!  Mom said "no barn, you get grass time",  I waited till her back was turned hastened my way back inside hee hee!!!  Mom was stupified, shoot I was too.  Can you imagine, I Camryn the Queen of grass snatching turning down an acre of green nummies.  That should give you a good idea of how bad the skeeters are this year.  The scare me I tell ya.
You may recall my potties in the barn and how Dad hung a nylon strap across to keep me out?  Well, it took me two whole days, but I figured it out as any Haflinger would of course.  First I noticed a knot in the middle, no big deal for me.  I pushed a bit and the knot gave way, so I got to take a hefty dump hee hee.  Mom of course fixed it better than Dad had.  No problem, I just put my Haflinger thinking cap on.  Turned out if I lowered my head just so, edge forward till the strap was at top of my head, lift and walk right under.  HA on you Mom!!!  Problem was my timing though, Mom came down to the barn just as I was on my way back thru.  Her'd have been befuddled big time if I hadn't been caught in the act.
About the saddle dilemma, a friend is coming to check out my to small saddle for her TWH on Wed.  Otherwise it'll be on Ebay soon.  Mom checking out some none pricey saddles figuring we'll upgrade mabye next year.  Her has champagne taste n all.  Her did a template of my withers, according to it, I should fit a Bighorn Haflinger saddle, BUT (notice it's a big but, no not butt)  with my shoulder atrophy once it fills in that saddle may be to small!!!  Her wrote the saddle selling place explaining this and wondering if maybe the Abetta round skirt draft would be better.  Course the skirt length comes into play as well, so her asked how long skirt was too.  Her don't like synthetics much but, figures once we eventually get our good saddle, the synthetic will be our ride in any weather saddle.  Her checked out the site Pippin and Doc mentioned so most likely that's the place we'll go for a good one later.
Hafy hugs to all...

Problem # 1 solved...

Camryn here:
Ok Pippin N Doc, thanx for writing on my behalf.  And I do mean THANX!!!
Mom had Dad put up a long nylon strap kinda like some stalls have to keep horses in.  Only this one is meant to keep me from the back of the aisle that I'd turned into potty central.  So, I wasn't in exile long and so far I've kept my business outside!!!  So that problem is solved at least for now.
Saddle problem not so much.  Mom's friend let her borrow her English Sensation Treeless Saddle, her endurance Synergist saddle that her Haffy's use, and the EquiFit saddle measuring thing.
First off, Momma spent most of the day cleaning both saddles, they both was in need badly.  The Equifit thing comes with a special box you put it in to heat it.  Mom's friend lost the box, so Mom needs to rig one up but, didn't have time to cut down boxes and foil them.  Her hopes to tomorrow.
Mom was really hoping the Sensation would fix my saddle issue.  Her put it on me and WALLA perfect and I looked really good in it too.  Then Momma hopped on for a test ride.  Her decided her be a western gal for sure.  Her felt like if I wanted her off, her'd be off in a hoof beat.  When her trotted me, her felt like her was being thrown in the air.  Her adjusted the stirrups and still had that feeling.  So, the Sensation be a no go.  It is a lovely, high quality saddle though.
So if the weather holds we'll test ride the Sensation tomorrow.  Mom's really scared it'll work, Dad even more so cause it's way, way, way pricey.  You should see it though, I'm gonna looks like the Princess that I am strutting it it.
New problem, Mom's camera is on the fritz!!!  Her was gonna take pictures of me modeling it wouldn't turn on.  Her recharged the batteries still nothing.  It was working just a few days ago so don't know what's up with that.  Kinda a spensive camera too, with the saddle issue the camera issue is low on the priority list.  While I'd really love to continue putting up pixs of my beeutiful princess self, I do prefer comfort of a good fitting saddle even more so.

Oops, Mom's PO'd...

Camryn here:
I gots Mom PO'd at me, you know the saying that "if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy?"  Well, I can verify the truth to that.
See, I've been using the barn aisle as a restroom all week, not something I've ever done before.  The first few times, Momma wasn't to bad, day three I could feel a certain tension coming from her.  Her started lecturing me regarding proper toilet habits being outside, in by stall at night but, certainly never in the barn aisle.  Her sayed her understands the bugs and all but, it only takes a few minutes to do my business so I should live with it.  Night before last her mentioned my not having barn aisle access if I didn't mind my manners.  Last night her went on and on "blah, blah, blah".  I paid her no mind and did lotsa business in the aisle while her was at work.  Guess maybe I shoulda listened?  Her moved my water outa the barn, shut the gate so Onyx could come in and out but, not me!!!  Can you imagine????  Now Onyx is basking in the barn in front of MY fan!!!
Her reminded me of her warnings, said I was rude, that her worked all day just to provide for me.  That her fly sprays, fly sheets, fly masks me every morning.  Worries and kicks herself over the saddle issue, an all this other stuff.  That her was fine cleaning my stall and paddock but, the barn aisle is where it stops.
I'm standing at the gated shut barn wishing I'd have listened for once.  Could maybe all my friends write asking for her to forgive me and rethink my exile?

Uh Oh, saddle issues...

Camryn here:
Well, Mom be beating herself all up, calling herself stupid & apolagizing to me.  Seems my saddle doesn't fit.  Good girl that I am, I've never told her.
My saddle belonged to her TWH, it's a wide gaited saddle with flaired bars and all that.  Her had several people check to make sure it fitted me.  Well, they were wrong.
My trimmer is a saddle fitter but, for some reason Mom never had her check "DUH".  Trimmer mentioned today that my back showed some signs of atrophy and maybe my saddle didn't fit.  Poor Mom, her thought the recent changes on my back was from my diet having worked.
Mom pulls out my saddle with the pad I normally wear, that's where the "Uh Oh" part of my subject matter comes in cause that was the noise Momma made.  It was way tight on my shoulders.  They switched to my thin blanket, it's not perfect but doable for now.
A good friend has one of those treeless saddles (Sensation) that her is going to let us use.  Her also has some "equifit" thing that you bake in the oven then put on horses back.  Mom can then take that around to tack stores and compare for fit.  Though Mom thinks maybe her should wait on that till my muscles have chance to come back?
This Sensation is english which Mom never rode before.  Her hopes to get used to it riding in the paddock for a bit first.
Dad,  he's gonna have kittens and him not a cat lovin guy at all.
On a positive note, my feets look awesome.
